Childcare Subsidy
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a system through which the Australian government allocates funds to bring down the cost of childcare for Australian families who meet certain requirements.
This takes the form of a percentage by which school fees can be decreased and is calculated based on the following:
- How many hours of ‘recognised’ activity you and your partner undertake each fortnight.
- What your combined family income is.
- The child care fees you pay (hourly rate caps apply for each service type).
- The number and age of children you have in ‘approved’ care.
Starting from July 10, 2023, the Australian Government has increased its Child Care Subsidy (CCS) rates for families. These exciting changes saw many families attending MindChamps Early Learning & Preschool Centres eligible to receive more Child Care Subsidy (CCS) due to the increase in the family income limit. For more information, please refer to the Services Australia website here.
Are you wondering if you are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy, or have more questions regarding the changes? Our dedicated enrolments team is always reachable on 1300 646 324 to provide help and support.
How to Claim Your CCS
You can claim your childcare subsidy by following these steps:
1. Claim online by linking your Centrelink account to MyGov.
2. Consolidate your supporting documents.
3. Make and track your claim online.
4. Enrol your child with us and we will submit the enrolment details.
5. Confirm your details.
While fees vary across our centres, most of our MindChamps Early Learning & Preschool centres charge less than the government cap rate.
We are committed to helping families understand these recent changes, and how they could apply to their unique circumstances. When families can get the most out of their subsidy, they can maximise the amount of time children can spend in care – which supports vital learning and development.
